AIK Fotboll–Hammarby Fotboll Rivalry
The fixture between AIK and Hammarby is a local derby in Stockholm, Sweden. History The clubs first met in a competitive game in 1920. Rivalry culture The rivalry between AIK and Hammarby is one of the most important derbies in Sweden. AIK and Hammarby are clubs with considerable support in Sweden; in 2015, two of the games between these two teams had an attendance of 41 063 and 41 630 respectively. 23 of September 2018 a derby between these two teams had an attendance of 49,034. It's still the record for a derby in the Nordic countries. AIK was founded in the district of Norrmalm, which constitutes the most central part of Stockholm City Centre, and therefore have a following in the northern parts of the city centre, as well as a strong concentration of fans in the northwest, roughly along the blue line of the Metro. Råsunda Stadium
Råsunda Stadium (; also known as Råsunda Fotbollsstadion, Råsundastadion, Råsunda Football Stadium or just Råsunda) was the Swedish national football stadium. It was located in Solna Municipality in Stockholm and named after the district in Solna where it is located. The stadium was demolished in 2013 after being replaced by the Friends Arena. Sven Bergqvist
Sven Olof Lennart "Svenne Berka" Bergqvist (20 August 1914 – 16 December 1996) was a Swedish football and ice hockey player, known for representing Hammarby IF in both sports. He also played bandy and handball. Bergqvist is one of only three athletes that has competed in the highest Swedish division in four different sports. Early life Sven Bergqvist grew up in a working-class home in a southern part of Stockholm known as Södermalm. He had several siblings and frequently acted as a ball boy during the football matches of the local club Hammarby IF during his youth, studying his idol Victor Olsson. Sture Gillström
Sture "Stöttan" Gillström (3 December 1908 – 28 January 1978) was a Swedish football, ice hockey and bandy player, known for representing Hammarby IF in all three sports. Early life Sture Gillström grew up in a working-class home in a southern part of Stockholm known as Södermalm. He and his two siblings were raised by the mother, since the father died in the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. Athletic career Football He started to play football with the local club Hammarby IF as a youngster. On 2 August 1925, at the age of 16, Gillström debuted in the senior team, in the first fixture of the Division 2 campaign, and scored two goals as Hammarby won 3–2 against Sundbybergs IK. Axel "Acke" Nilsson (12 November 1904 – 22 April 1978) was a Swedish football, ice hockey and bandy player, best known for representing Hammarby IF and AIK in all three sports. A full international between 1930 and 1937, he won eight caps for the Sweden national football team. He also competed for the Sweden national ice hockey team at the 1936 Winter Olympics. Per Ludvig Gösta Kaufeldt (1 August 1902 – 21 March 1956) was a Swedish football and bandy player. He won a bronze medal at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Kaufeldt is the all-time top scorer of AIK, with 122 goals in 170 matches; he won the national football title with the club in 1923 and 1932 and a bandy title in 1931. Internationally, between 1921 and 1931 he played football (33 matches, 23 goals), ice hockey (6 matches, 0 goals) and bandy (2 matches). Billy Roger Ohlsson (born 13 January 1954) is a Swedish former football player and manager. He mostly represented Hammarby IF and is the club's all-time leading scorer with 94 goals in Allsvenskan. Leif Daniel Tjernström (born 19 February 1974) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is best remembered for his time with AIK which he represented between 1999 and 2013 and played 395 games for. Lars Kenneth "Kenta" Ohlsson (born 7 September 1948) is a Swedish former football player and manager. He represented Hammarby IF throughout his whole playing career, as a one club man, and holds the club record for most league appearances in total (396). Ohlsson also made one appearance for Sweden, in 1978. Svenska Cupen (, ''The Swedish Cup'') is a knockout cup competition in Swedish football and the main Swedish football cup. Svenska Cupen usually refers to the men's tournament, although a women's tournament is also held. Each year 96 teams compete, comprising the 16 teams from Allsvenskan and the 16 teams of Superettan together with 64 teams from lower tiers of the league system. The winners qualify for the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League. The winner is awarded Gustaf VI Adolf Cup. The Stockholmsarenan, known as the Tele2 Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a retractable roof multi-purpose stadium in Stockholm Globe City, Johanneshov, just south of Stockholm City Centre, Sweden. It is used mostly for concerts and football matches, hosting home matches of Allsvenskan teams Djurgårdens IF and Hammarby IF.
