AIBR. Asociación De Antropólogos Iberoamericanos En Red
The association AIBR (''Network of Iberoamerican Anthropologists'', from the Spanish ''Antropólogos Iberoamericanos en Red'') started in 1996 with the creation of the portal ''El Rincón del Antropólogo'' (The Anthropologist Corner), that brought together the team of one of the first portals of anthropology in the Spanish-speaking world. The association has become a network that connects more than 7,000 anthropologist of Spain, Portugal and all the Latin American countries. Creation of AIBR and AIBR. Revista de Antropología Iberoamericana In November 2002 the association was legally constituted and recognized by the Minister of the Interior of Spain. Since 2001, AIBR publishes the scientific journal AIBR. Revista de Antropología Iberoamericana' ('Journal of Iberoamerican Anthropology') every four months electronically and in paper. Anthropology
Anthropology is the scientific study of humanity, concerned with human behavior, human biology, cultures, societies, and linguistics, in both the present and past, including past human species. Social anthropology studies patterns of behavior, while cultural anthropology studies cultural meaning, including norms and values. A portmanteau term sociocultural anthropology is commonly used today. Linguistic anthropology studies how language influences social life. Biological or physical anthropology studies the biological development of humans. Archaeological anthropology, often termed as 'anthropology of the past', studies human activity through investigation of physical evidence. It is considered a branch of anthropology in North America and Asia, while in Europe archaeology is viewed as a discipline in its own right or grouped under other related disciplines, such as history and palaeontology. Institute For Advanced Study
The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), located in Princeton, New Jersey, in the United States, is an independent center for theoretical research and intellectual inquiry. It has served as the academic home of internationally preeminent scholars, including J. Robert Oppenheimer, Albert Einstein, Hermann Weyl, John von Neumann, and Kurt Gödel, many of whom had emigrated from Europe to the United States. Kath Weston (born 2 November 1958) is an American anthropologist, author and academic. She is a Guggenheim Fellow and has twice received the Ruth Benedict Prize for anthropological works. Biography Kath Weston was born in Illinois on 2 November 1958. She studied at the University of Chicago (B.A., 1978; M.A., 1981) and at Stanford University (M.A., 1984; Ph.D., 1988).
