Asociația Club Sportiv Electrica 1929 Timișoara commonly known as Electrica Timișoara, or simply as Electrica is a Romanian amateur football club based in Timișoara, Timiș County. It is currently playing in the Liga V, Seria III. The colors of the team are white and blue. History Until 1932, Electrica played in the western regional tournament, one of the five, before the winners would go to play in a knock-out tournament in the fall. ''Chinezul Timișoara'' was the team who usually won the tournaments. In 1932 the national league was created called Divizia A. Again, but this time Ripensia Timișoara took the lead and qualified to play in that league. Fotbal Club Politehnica Timișoara (), commonly known as Politehnica Timișoara or simply Poli Timișoara, was a Romanian football club from Timișoara, Timiș County, established in 1921 and dissolved in 2012. During its existence, the team won two Cupa României trophies and was twice runner-up in the Liga I. It amassed 49 seasons in the latter competition. Named after and initially run by the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, the club was founded in 1921 by mathematician Traian Lalescu. After two decades spent in the regional leagues, Politehnica promoted to the top flight in 1948. UMT Stadium ( ro, Stadionul UMT) was a multi-purpose stadium in Timișoara, Romania. Until 1960 the stadium was known as ''Stadionul Electrica'' and was the main home ground in Timișoara for athletics championships, being also the stadium where Olympic champion Iolanda Balaș made her debut. Ripensia Timișoara (until 1948) and Electrica Timișoara (until 1960) also used the stadium as the home ground for football matches. Fotbal Club Ripensia Timișoara (), commonly known as Ripensia Timișoara, or simply as Ripensia, is a Romanian professional football club based in Timișoara, Timiș County. It plays in the Liga II. The team was founded in 1928 by Lázár Kornél and folded after twenty years due to lack of funds. However, ''Ripi'' was brought back to life and enrolled in the Liga VI, the sixth tier of the Romanian football league system, in 2012.
