ABC South West WA is an ABC Local Radio station based in Bunbury. The station broadcasts to the South West region of Western Australia. This includes the towns of Busselton, Bridgetown, Manjimup and Margaret River. Bridgetown is a town in the South West (Western Australia), South West region of Western Australia, approximately south of Perth on the Blackwood River at the intersection of South Western Highway with Brockman Highway to Nannup, Western Australia, Nannup and Augusta, Western Australia, Augusta. ABC Radio Perth (call sign: 6WF) is the on-air identifier of a radio station located in Perth, Western Australia, operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and broadcasting at 720 hertz, kHz amplitude modulation, AM. ABC South Coast
ABC South Coast is an ABC Local Radio station based in Albany broadcasting to the coastal parts of the Great Southern region of Western Australia including the towns of Denmark, and Mount Barker. Although planned in 1951 the station began broadcasting as 6AL in 1956. There are a number of low power FM transmitters as well. Local programs are also broadcast through ABC Great Southern. When local programs are not being broadcast, the station is a relay of 720 ABC Perth. AM Broadcasting
AM broadcasting is radio broadcasting using amplitude modulation (AM) transmissions. It was the first method developed for making audio radio transmissions, and is still used worldwide, primarily for medium wave (also known as "AM band") transmissions, but also on the longwave and shortwave radio bands. Margaret River, Western Australia
Margaret River is a town in the South West of Western Australia, located in the valley of the eponymous Margaret River, south of Perth, the state capital. Its Local Government Area is the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River. Margaret River's coast to the west of the town is a renowned surfing location, with worldwide fame for its surf breaks including, but not limited to, Main Break, The Box, and "Rivadog" a.k.a breakline, or joey's nose. Manjimup, Western Australia
Manjimup is a town in Western Australia, south of the state capital, Perth. The town of Manjimup is a regional centre for the largest shire in the South West region of Western Australia. At the 2016 census, Manjimup had a population of 4,349. History Manjimup was named after the Noongar words "Manjin" (a broad-leafed edible reed) and " up" (meeting place, or place of). Manjimup was first settled by timber cutter Thomas Muir, who took up land near the present town site in 1856. It was declared a town in 1910, and a railway from Perth was completed in 1911.
