2001 Japan Challenge Tour
The Japan Challenge Tour (currently known as the AbemaTV Tour for sponsorships reasons), is a series of developmental golf tournaments run by the Japan Golf Tour Organization. It has been in operation since 1985. The 2018 schedule featured 12 tournaments, with prize funds of mostly ¥15 million. This is about a tenth of the level of prize money per event on offer on the main Japanese Tour, and the main tour also has a longer season. In 2018, internet television provider AbemaTV became the tour's sponsor. The WGC-HSBC Champions was a professional golf tournament, held annually in China. Inaugurated in 2005, the first seven editions were played at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, then moved to the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen for a single year in 2012. It returned to Sheshan Golf Club in 2013. Since 2009, it was a World Golf Championship event. Established in 1999 as a successor to the World Series of Golf, it was one of three or four annual World Golf Championships (WGC) until 2021, when the number of WGC events was reduced to two. Under sponsorship agreements, the WGC Invitational was titled as the WGC-NEC Invitational (1999–2005) and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (2006–2018).
