Azhar Sianturi
Azhar Levi Sianturi is an Indonesian musician and mechanical engineer. He is mainly known in the music scene as the former bassist for avant-garde/progressive metal band Kekal. He also has his own grindcore project called Mournphagy. His professional occupation is a mechanical engineer where he makes a living from, and he is also known lately as an avid coffee enthusiast and runs his own coffee roastery and brewing shop in Jakarta called Orkidé Coffee. Kekal Azhar Levi joined Kekal on 1996, the same year that the band released their official demo, ''Contra Spiritualia Nequitiae''. Throughout the first 5 years, the band developed their style by incorporating many diverse elements from outside metal. This distinct style became most prominent in their third album ''The Painful Experience'', which marked as a starting point for the band to step more and more into progressive and avant-garde metal and make further experiments with their music. Leo Setiawan
Leonard "Leo" Setiawan is mainly known as a former guitarist for progressive metal band Kekal. His main occupation is civil engineer and he owns and operates a building development firm in Jakarta, Indonesia. Kekal Leo joined Kekal in 1996, just after the band released their official demo, Contra Spiritualia Nequitiae. Kekal had originally been primarily a black metal band but Leo brought with him a diverse set of musical influences which, throughout the first 5 years, allowed the band to develop their style by incorporating many diverse elements from outside metal. ''Audible Minority'' is the seventh full-length studio album by Indonesian experimental metal band Kekal. According to the band, the album is titled "Audible Minority" because the music on the album is of extreme minority status, and is "entirely bleak, gloom and dark." They also said that the album was constructed over almost two years, during various events in the band members lives. Jeff Arwadi recorded the entire songs on this album all by himself, and started shortly after he moved to Canada in 2006. There is an official music video for the song "Narrow Avenue". The album was originally supposed to be released by a now-defunct record label NePlusUltra Music in CD format in December 2008, with the first pressing a special digipak release that was hand-numbered and limited to 777 copies. ''Embrace the Dead'' is the second album by Indonesian extreme metal band Kekal. It reached sold-out status in 2004. On 15 August 2010, a new, remastered limited edition entitled ''Embrace the Dead 1999'' was released as a free download, for up to a 1000 downloads. On 18 May 2012, Kekal made the re-mastered edition available for purchase on Bandcamp, citing exorbitant prices for second-hand copies of the original album on sites like Amazon. Recording ''Embrace the Dead'' was, according to the band, the most difficult recording session for any of its albums. The band had almost no budget, and encountered problems with 16-track analog tape recorder that it was using. Because of the budget problems, the band could not book the studio ahead of time, and had to use left-over time from other band's recording sessions. ''Beyond the Glimpse of Dreams'' is the debut album by Indonesian extreme metal band Kekal released in 1998. Vocalist Harry left the band after the album's release. Recording The music on the album features extremely fast melodic black metal mixed with classic and thrash metal, and incorporates a range of vocal styles such as high pitched black metal shrieks, death growls, and female singing. Recorded on 16-track analog tape in April and December 1997 as two separate sessions, the album was originally released as a cassette by THT Productions in January 1998. Later in October 1998, Sonic Wave and Candlelight Productions re-released the album as CD and cassette with a different cover artwork.
