Aytaç Durak (born 1938) is a Turkish politician, and has been the mayor of Adana since 1984, excluding one term (1989–1994). He is the longest serving locally elected city mayor in Turkey, currently at his 5th term. Adding his 17 years as a municipal councillor, he will have served the municipality of Adana for 42 years by the end of this term. He was the president of the Municipalities Union of Turkey for 17 years and the Çukurova Municipalities Union for 12 years. Aytaç Durak is the only politician to have run in all the municipal elections since 1973; twice as councillor, six times as mayoral candidate, losing only once in the 1989 mayoral race. Aytaç Ercan (born December 21, 1976) is a Turkish wheelchair basketball player and Paralympian. He is a 4 point player competing for Beşiktaş Wheelchair Basketball Team, and is part of Turkey men's national wheelchair basketball team. Aytaç Yalman (29 July 1940 – 15 March 2020) was a Turkish general. Biography He was the Commander of the Turkish Army (2002–2004) and previously General Commander of the Gendarmerie of Turkey (2000–2002). He was commissioned in an Artillery unit fielding M114 155 mm howitzers, and for the rest of his career below the rank of Colonel, he served in and commanded MGR-1 Honest John Ballistic Missile units.
