Ayoze García
Ayoze García Pérez (born 22 November 1985), known simply as Ayoze, is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a left-back, currently assistant coach for USL Championship club Indy Eleven. He spent most of his 20-year senior career with Tenerife and the New York Cosmos, signing with the latter club in 2013. He retired following a spell in the USL Championship with Indy Eleven. Playing career Spain Ayoze was born in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. He made his professional debut with CD Tenerife in the Segunda División, then had a loan spell at neighbours UD Las Palmas in 2004–05's Segunda División B; he started his career as a winger. Puerto de la Cruz is a city and municipality in the northern part of the island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. The 2009–10 La Liga season (known as the ''Liga BBVA'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 79th La Liga since its establishment. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. The 2008–09 Segunda División season (known from that season as Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 78th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 30 August 2008, and the season ended on 21 June 2009. Real Zaragoza, Real Murcia and Levante were the teams relegated from La Liga the previous season.
