Ayotlán
Ayotlán Municipality is a municipality, in Jalisco in central-western Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 518.57 km. As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 35,150. Place Names Ayotlán comes from "Ayotl" (its former name) and means "place of turtles" or "squashes" History In 1583 the Spaniards called it "and Ayo el Chico" to distinguish it from large town that was near San Pedro Piedra Gorda, in the now state of Guanajuato. In the year 620 and 623 came the Aztecs found the place already populated by indigenous groups. About 10 km south of the town is a hill called "Old Town" which was the first seat of the population. Degollado
Degollado () is a small town and municipality located in the Mexican state of Jalisco, in the cultural region of Ciénega, just south of Los Altos. The municipality encompasses Huascato, Los Ranchitos, La Vibora, Buenos Aires, Las Limas, Altamira, La Chancla and El Corral de Piedra. In Spanish, the word ''degollado'' means "to slit one's throat", "behead", or "decapitate". It is also a last name, and in this case the town was named after Mexican general Santos Degollado. Atotonilco El Alto
Atotonilco El Alto is a town and municipalities of Jalisco, municipality, in Jalisco in Los Altos (Jalisco) region in central-western Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 638.15 km.
