Luciana Paula Aymar (; born 10 August 1977) is an Argentine retired field hockey player. She is the only player in history to receive the FIH Player of the Year Awards, FIH Player of the Year Award eight times, and she is considered as the best female hockey player of all time. In 2010 she was granted the Platinum Konex Award as the best Hockey player of the last decade in Argentina. Luciana is known for her ability to beat opposing players using her pace and dribbling skills, drawing comparisons with Argentinian Association football, footballer Diego Maradona. For this reason she has received the nicknames "La Maga" ("The Magician") and "The Maradona of Field Hockey". Marcel Aymar (born in Meteghan, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian musician, composer, writer and actor. Robert Aymar was the Director General of CERN (2004–2008), serving a five-year term in that role. Aymar was born in 1936 in France. After studying at the ''École Polytechnique'', Robert Aymar entered the ''Corps des Poudres'' (a former government agency involved in basic and applied research). Following his secondment to the ''Commissariat à l'énergie atomique'' (CEA) in 1959, his career has been focused on fundamental research in plasma physics and its application in controlled thermonuclear fusion research. Timothy L. Aymar (born September 4, 1963) is an American heavy metal singer. He is best known as the vocalist of progressive metal band Pharaoh and for his work with Chuck Schuldiner in Control Denied. Career Often known for his strong vocals on Chuck Schuldiner's Control Denied band but his music career as a vocalist started years before that. He's been a vocalist since 1985 with the band 313, then he joined Triple x and released an album with them. Then he joined Psych Scream, where his bandmate Jim Dofka introduce him to the music of Chuck Schuldiner and his band Death. Schuldiner heard Aymar's voice on Psycho Scream and contacted him through his bandmate Jim Dofka. After a three-song audition, he joined Schuldiner's new band Control Denied as the vocalist. Louis-Esprit d'Aymar was a French Navy officer. He fought in the Indian Ocean under Suffren during the War of American Independence, captaining the 64-gun ''Saint Michel'' at the Battle of Trincomalee from 25 August to 3 September 1782, and the 74-gun ''Annibal'' at the Battle of Cuddalore on 20 June 1783. Biography The Chevalier d'Aymar was born to the family of a treasurer from Aix-en-Provence. He joined the Navy as a Garde-Marine on 29 September 1749. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 1 May 1763, and to Captain on 4 April 1777. Aymar took part in the Battle of Martinique, on 17 April 1780, at the command of ''Saint-Michel''. Along with ''Vengeur'' and ''Destin'', ''Saint Michel'' directly engaged the much stronger ''Sandwich'', under Rodney, ''Cornwall'' and ''Suffolk''. Aymar Chaste
Aymar de Chaste (1514–1603) was a Catholic French admiral during the Franco-Spanish Wars between 1582 and 1598. A gentleman of the King's Chamber, François Aymar (or Aimar) de Cleremont de Chaste served as governor of Dieppe and Arques-la-Bataille as well as the French ambassador to England during mid to late 16th century. A vice admiral, Chaste commanded the French-Portuguese naval forces supporting António, Prior of Crato's attempt to defend the Azores from Spain to use as a staging point to liberate Portugal. However, he was defeated by Álvaro de Bazán, Marquis of Santa Cruz at the Battle of Terceira in 1583. After agreeing to command an expedition to the Saint Lawrence River with former officers Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons, François Gravé Du Pont, and Samuel Champlain, Chaste was appointed Viceroy of Canada by King Henry IV on February 6, 1602. Aymar Embury II
Aymar Embury II (June 15, 1880 – November 15, 1966) was an American architect. He is best known for commissions from the City of New York from the 1930s through to the 1950s. In this period, Embury frequently worked with Robert Moses in the latter's various city and state capacities, especially, early on, in Moses’ capacity as New York City Parks Commissioner. Many surviving examples of Embury's work are zoos, swimming pools, playgrounds, and other recreational structures in New York City parks.
