Ayk (daily)
''Ayk'' (in Armenian Այգ meaning dawn in Armenian) was an Armenian daily newspaper published in Beirut Mondays to Fridays for the period 1953 to 1975. It was established by Dikran and Lucy Tosbat, as an independent non-partisan Armenian daily in stark contrast to the three other Lebanese Armenian dailies that were partisan and official party organs: '' Aztag'', the organ of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Tashnag), '' Ararad'', the organ of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (Hentchag) and '' Zartonk'', the organ of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (ADL – Ramgavar). ''Ayk'' also supported the political aspirations of Mr. Tosbat for being elected for one of the Armenian parliamentary seats reserved for the Armenian Orthodox in the Lebanese Parliament. Many well-known writers and literary figures contributed to the daily's content including very notably the Lebanese-Armenian writer Shahantoukhd. Aoyagi Metals Company
(commonly known as Ayk in America and Aoyagi in Japan) was a Japanese company that became notable in the 1980s for its radio-controlled cars. The company began in the 1960s manufacturing metal chassis for slotcar racing; 1978 saw the introduction of the RX1200, a 1:12 scale on-road racer, which was the start of the RX series of 1/12-scale on-road chassis. The RX2000 followed and took the Japan Model Racing Car Association All-Japan Championship title in 1980, the first of three consecutive titles for the company. In 1984, Joel Johnson won the title on his first trip to Japan with Trinity. Conventional manufacturers mounted their differential gears between the right rear wheel and the motor compartment, but Ayk placed theirs within the axle, which centered the weight more proportionately and kept the differential gears protected. By 1984, they resorted to an outboard gear diff much like the current Delta of the time. In 1982, the same year that AYK took its third consecutive ...

AN/UYK-44
The AN/UYK-44 is the standard 16-bit minicomputer of the United States Navy. The AN/UYK-44 was developed in the early 1980s by Sperry Corporation and was completed in early 1984. The AN/UYK-44 was used in surface ships, submarines, ground C4I platforms, radar and missile control systems. The system was designed to replace the older AN/UYK-20 model. Technical specifications The AN/UYK-44 had 2 million words of memory, approximately 4 MB in modern terms, and operated at 0.9 MIPS. The system has relatively large I/O capability and has a MIL-STD-1397 point-to-point I/O bus running at 250K words/s. The system was built around the use of "Standard Electronic Modules" (SEM) for logic implementation. These modules had double-sided surface mount integrated circuits and ceramic substrates for interconnect and cooling.
