Ayal Adler
Ayal Adler ( he, אייל אדלר), is an Israeli composer. Active internationally, his works are continuously performed worldwide. Serves as Associate Professor in composition and theory at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Recipient of numerous awards, including: the Prime-Minister Award for Composition; Two Acum Prizes (equivalent to ASCAP), and the first prize at the RMN International Competition in London. Serves as a Board member of the Israeli Composers' League. David Vogel (Hebrew: דוד פוגל; May 15, 1891–1944) was a Ukrainian-born Jewish poet, novelist, and diarist. Biography David Vogel was born in the town of Sataniv in the Podolia region in the Russian Pale of Settlement. The family spoke Yiddish. In 1909–1910, he arrived in Vilnius as a yeshiva student. Ariane Matiakh
Ariane Matiakh (born 1980) is a French conductor. Biography The daughter of two opera singers, Matiakh obtained prizes in piano, chamber music, conducting at the ''Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Reims'' and piano accompaniment at the ''Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Rueil-Malmaison''. At the same time, she began her musical career as a pianist and vocal conductor in various French institutions. She sang in the Arnold Schoenberg Choir, under the direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Ádám Fischer. From 2002 to 2005, she studied conducting at the Musik Hochschule in Vienna in the class of Leopold Hager and Yuji Yuasa and followed the advice of Seiji Ozawa in masterclasses. Zubin Mehta
Zubin Mehta (born 29 April 1936) is an Indian conductor of Western classical music. He is music director emeritus of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) and conductor emeritus of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Mehta's father was the founder of the Bombay Symphony Orchestra, and Mehta received his early musical education from him. When he was 18, he enrolled in the Vienna state music academy, from which he graduated after three years with a diploma as a conductor. He began winning international competitions and conducted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic at age 21. Beginning in the 1960s, Mehta gained experience by substituting for celebrated maestros throughout the world. Bart Berman
Bart Berman ( he, ברט ברמן; born 29 December 1938) is a Dutch-Israeli pianist and composer, best known as an interpreter of Franz Schubert and 20th-century music. Career Bart Berman studied piano with Jaap Spaanderman at a predecessor of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and complemented his piano education with Theo Bruins and a master class by Alfred Brendel. In 1978 he moved to Israel. As a soloist Berman was awarded the Dutch Prize of Excellence, the first prize in the Gaudeamus Competition for interpreters of contemporary music, the Friends of the Concertgebouw Award and four first prizes at competitions for young soloists. Many composers are, or were, also skilled performers of music. Etymology and Definition The term is descended from Latin, ''compōnō''; literally "one who puts together". The earliest use of the term in a musical context given by the ''Oxford English Dictionary'' is from Thomas Morley's 1597 ''A Plain and Easy Introduction to Practical Music'', where he says "Some wil be good descanters ..and yet wil be but bad composers".
