Awgu
Awgu is the Headquarters of Awgu Local Government Area (LGA) in Enugu State, Nigeria and the Headquarters of Awgu Catholic Diocese. The Catholic Cathedral is said to resemble a space ship when viewed with Google Earth. The town is also the Orientation Training Centre for National Youth Service corps members posted to Enugu State. Roman Catholic Diocese Of Awgu
The (Roman Catholic) Diocese of Awgu (''Dioecesis Auguensis'') in Nigeria was created on July 5, 2005, when it was split off from the Diocese of Enugu. It is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Onitsha. Its first bishop is John Ifeanyichukwu Okoye. The St. Michael Archangel Parish Church in Awgu is the largest church in the diocese and will therefore become its cathedral. The Diocese covers an area of 1,310 km2 of the Enugu State, covering the local government areas: Awgu, Agbogugu, Inyi, Ndeabor, Nnenwe, Owelli and Oji Rivers (except the parish of Ukwuoba). Mmaku
Mmaku is a town in the Awgu local government area of Enugu State, Nigeria. The name Mmaku means "Welcomer" or "Embracer". Another derivation comes from the English language, and it means "beauty of wealth." Mmaku communities include Enugwu Agu, Affam, Ifite, Amagu, Otokwu, and Ezioha. Aninri
Aninri is a Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Ndeabo. The local government is about 233,723 inhabitants according to the projected population from 2006 census. Aninri is made up of five towns; Odume, Nenwe, Ndeabo, Mpu and Okpanku. Odume is the largest of the five with a population of approximately 98,000 inhabitants at the 2006. Ejike Camillus Anthony Ebenezer Mbaka known as Father Mbaka is a Catholic cleric, musician and the founder of Adoration Ministries, Enugu, Nigeria. He is noted for being one of the most prominent religious leaders in the south-eastern part of Nigeria. Ugbo
Ugbo is one of the few aborigines east of the River Niger, Nigeria, and has existed in its current location dating back to the Ancient History (3000 BC – AD 500). The town is known for its natural habitat, including serene hills, caves, large rocks and stones, rivers, forests, wild animals, and fertile lands. Ugbo is the ancestral home to many towns in Igboland.
