Avis Wyatt
Avis Wyatt (born August 20, 1984) is an American retired basketball player. Wyatt is and played as power forward and center. After four years playing in college for Virginia State, Wyatt played in the Netherlands, Cyprus and Greece. Biography Avis is a native of Petersburg, Virginia. He attended Petersburg High School as well as Virginia State University. While attending Virginia State University, Avis pledged Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, Fall 2004.Kathleen Lindsay, Alumna of Virginia State University, Class of 2008 Career Wyatt started his professional career in 2007, in the Netherlands with MyGuide Amsterdam. Here he played for two seasons and won the DBL championship two times. The next year, Wyatt moved to Cyprus to play for AEL Limassol, reaching the finals of the Cypriot League. The power forward (PF), also known as the four or strong forward, is a position in basketball. Power forwards play a role similar to centers. When on offense, they typically play with their backs towards the basket. When on defense, they typically position themselves under the basket in a zone defense or against the opposing power forward in man-to-man defense. Amsterdam Basketball was a Dutch professional basketball club from the city of Amsterdam, established in 1995 and dissolved in 2011. The club won the Dutch championship seven times and the Dutch Cup five times. History Early years (1995–1997) After it was announced that the Graydons Canadians, a team from Amsterdam would not participate in the Eredivisie of 1995–96, Ed de Haas, Carlo Brunink and Oscar Kales founded the club.
