A .... Converted into a museum in 1996, the Aviation Technical Museum's first exhibits were aircraft which required maintenance and had been sent to . However, due to lack of funding, these planes and helicopters remained there, and subsequently were simply written off as scrap metal. It was then that it was decided to preserve these aircraft and they were added to the museum. The Mil Mi-6 (NATO reporting name Hook), given the article number ''izdeliye 50'' and company designation V-6, is a Soviet/Russian heavy transport helicopter that was designed by the Mil design bureau. Gunship
A gunship is a military aircraft armed with heavy aircraft guns, primarily intended for attacking ground targets either as airstrike or as close air support. In modern usage the term "gunship" refers to fixed-wing aircraft having laterally-mounted heavy armaments (i.e. firing to the side) to attack ground or sea targets. These gunships are configured to circle the target instead of performing strafing runs.
