Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family. Historically, it is one of the spoken languages of the Israelites and their longest-surviving descendants, the Jews and Samaritans. It was largely preserved throughout history as the main liturgical language of Judaism (since the Second Temple period) and Samaritanism. Hebrew is the only Canaanite language still spoken today, and serves as the only truly successful example of a dead language that has been revived. Aviad Frydman (born February 9, 1964) is a professor in the Department of Physics, Bar-Ilan University, Ramat-Gan, Israel. He has been the Chairman of the Department of Physics since 2022. His research focuses on the experimental study of electronic properties in Two-dimensional semiconductor, low dimensional and Amorphous metal, disordered systems. Biography Aviad Frydman was born in Melbourne, Australia. He graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with Highest Distinction. He performed his post-doctoral research at the University of California, San Diego, working with Robert C. Dynes. In 1999 he obtained an academic position at Bar-Ilan University where he became a full Professor in 2013. During 2006 and 2007 he was a visiting professor in Yale University.
