Avi Ivgi
Avi Ivgi ( he, אבי איבגי; born 2 October 1978) is an Israeli professional football goalkeeper who plays for Liga Alef club Hapoel Qalansawe . He previously played for Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv, Hapoel Kfar Saba, Beitar Jerusalem, Hapoel Rishon LeZion, Maccabi Petah Tikva, Hapoel Petah Tikva and Hapoel Nazareth Illit. Ivgi came through the Hapoel Nazareth Illit youth squad. He made his debut for the club's senior team in the 1996–97 season against Hapoel Majd al-Krum. In 2001 Ivgi moved to Bnei Yehuda and helped them gain promotion to the Israeli Premier League in the 2001–02 season. In 2003, he joined Hapoel Kfar Saba, then in the Liga Leumit. They finished in fourth place in his first season, and in his second, 2004–05, they won the Liga Leumit championship and promotion to the Israeli Premier League. Liga Alef
Liga Alef ( he, ליגה א', , League A) is the third tier of the Israeli football league system. It is divided into two regional divisions, north and south. History League football began in Israel in 1949–50, a year after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. However, the financial and security crises gripping the young nation caused the 1950–51 season to be abandoned before it had started. When football resumed in 1951–52, the new top division went by the name of Liga Alef. The 1952–53 season was also not played, and Liga Alef resumed in 1953–54. In the 1955–56 season, Liga Leumit came into existence as the new top division, with Liga Alef becoming the second division. The 2013–14 Liga Leumit was the fifteenth season since its introduction in 1999 and the 72nd season of second-tier football in Israel. It began on 8 September 2013 and will end in May 2014. A total of sixteen teams are contesting in the league, including twelve sides from the 2012–13 season, two promoted team from the 2012–13 Liga Alef and two relegated teams from the 2012–13 Israeli Premier League. 1998–99 Liga Alef
The 1998–99 Liga Alef season was held between 11 September 1998 and 29 May 1999. It was the last season (until 2009–10) in which Liga Alef was the third tier of Israeli football, as the creation of the Israeli Premier League in the summer of 1999 meant that it became the fourth tier. Due to the restructuring, two clubs were due to be promoted from each division; Hapoel Ra'anana and Hapoel Nazareth Illit from the north and Hapoel Dimona and Hapoel Ramat Gan from the south. During the summer of 1999, Maccabi Jaffa were demoted to Liga Alef (from Liga Leumit) after their budget was not approved by the Israel Football Association, which resulted in Maccabi Sha'arayim (the third-placed club with the highest points total) being promoted alongside the top two from the South Division.
