Avet Avetisyan ( hy, Ավետ Ավետիսյան - March 29, 1971) was a Soviet Armenian film actor. Biography In 1905, Avetisyan was accepted to the Nersisian School, where he participated in school plays. Before leaving for the army (in 1916), Avetisyan worked in a manufacturing shop as a student and clerk. After being discharged from the military (in 1918) he joined Hovhannes Abelyan's theater company in Baku. Avetisyan's debut performance occurred in 1918 as Voskan in Alexander Shirvanzade's Evil Spirit (Char Vogi). Then, Avetisyan went to Tbilisi with Abelyan, where he performed in an Armenian drama group (1919). During 1920-1921, Avetisyan performed with the group in Karakilisa (modern Vanadzor). In 1922, Avetisyan moved to Yerevan as part of the touring theatre before being accepted to the famous Sundukyan State Academic Theatre, where he continued to write for the rest of his life. Avet Barseghyan ( hy, Ավետ Բարսեղյան, ) is an Armenian songwriter and TV host, who hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Yerevan, Armenia, alongside Gohar Gasparyan. Barseghyan has also written several of Armenia's entries for both the Eurovision Song Contest and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, as well as being the country's commentator since . Avet Ter-Gabrielyan
Avet Ter-Gabrielyan ( hy, Ավդեյ Տեր-Գաբրիելյան, April 7, 1899 - June 19, 1983) was an Armenian violinist and the founder of the Komitas Quartet. Avet Gabrielyan Music School in Yerevan is named in his honor. Early life Avet Ter-Gabrielyan was born on April 19, 1899, in Nor Nakhichevan (now Proletarsky District, Rostov-on-Don). Education He studied violin under Nicholas Averino (father of soprano Olga Averino) in Rostov-on-Don before continuing his studies at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Lev Tseitlin. Career In November 1924, Ter-Gabrielyan co-founded Komitas Quartet. He was the quartet's first violin from 1925 to 1976. The ensemble performed with such musicians as Konstantin Igumnov and Heinrich Neuhaus. Aram Khachaturian dedicated to Ter-Gabrielyan his "Dance" (1933). Alfred Roubenovich "Avet" Terterian (also Terteryan) ( hy, Ալֆրեդ "Ավետ" Տերտերյան, July 29, 1929 – December 11, 1994) was an Armenian composer, awarded the Konrad Adenauer Prize. Terterian composed eight (completed) symphonies, several of which are recorded, an opera and several chamber works. Terterian was a friend and colleague of Giya Kancheli, Konstantin Orbelyan, and Tigran Mansurian. Dmitri Shostakovich praised Terterian as "very talented" and "with great future" in one of his letters, published by his friend Isaak Glikman, having heard a recording of Terterian's works at Armenia's "House of Composers" summer resort in Dilijan, Armenia. He studied at the Music Academy in Baku from 1948, and moved to the Romanos-Melikian Music Academy in 1951.He studied composition at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan from 1952.
