Aveion Cason
Aveion Marquel Cason (born July 12, 1979) is a former American football running back and kick returner in the National Football League for the St. Louis Rams, Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the Florida Tuskers in the United Football League. He played college football at Illinois State University. Early years Cason attended Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. As a junior, he rushed for 980 yards and averaged nearly 38.0-yards per kickoff return. He did not play football during his senior year after transferring to a different school. College career Cason accepted a football scholarship from Illinois State University. As a freshman in 1998, he posted 124 carries for 728 yards and 8 touchdowns, while making 23 receptions for 230 yards. Kickoff Return
A kickoff is a method of starting a drive in gridiron football. Typically, a kickoff consists of one team – the "kicking team" – kicking the ball to the opposing team – the "receiving team". The receiving team is then entitled to ''return'' the ball, i.e., attempt to advance it towards the kicking team's end zone, until the player with the ball is tackled by the kicking team, goes out of bounds, scores a touchdown, or the play is otherwise ruled dead. The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago. 2002 NFL Season
The 2002 NFL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Football League. The league went back to an even number of teams with the addition of the Houston Texans; the league has remained static with 32 teams since. The clubs were realigned into eight divisions, four teams in each. Also, the Chicago Bears played their home games in 2002 in Champaign, Illinois at Memorial Stadium because of the reconstruction of Soldier Field. The NFL title was won by Tampa Bay when they defeated Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVII, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California on January 26, 2003. Brian Calhoun
Brian Calhoun (born May 8, 1984) is a former gridiron football running back. He also was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wisconsin. He is coaching high school track and field, football, and sports fitness training in the greater Milwaukee area. He is also a fitness trainer at DSHA (Divine Savior Holy Angels) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster. The 2001 NFL Draft was the 66th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible professional football players. The draft, which is officially referred to as the "NFL Player Selection Meeting," was held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on April 21–22, 2001. Each team is assigned one pick per round with the order based generally on the reverse order of finish in the previous season with the team with the worst record receiving the first draft slot.
