Avalon-Chanel Weyzig (born 2 April 1990) is a model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Netherlands 2009 and represented her country in the 2009 Miss Universe and Miss World pageants. Early life Born in Zwolle to parents of Indonesian descent, Weyzig has an older brother and one little sister. In 2008, she lived for a year in Barcelona, where she learned Spanish. She also speaks fluent English, likes dancing, singing, shopping; and is currently studying international media and entertainment in Haarlem. Addy van den Krommenacker ( Uden 8 April 1950) is a Dutch fashion designer. Biography He launched his first own designs in 2002, during the Beaumonde Fashion Awards. This was followed by his own couture collection the year after. From then on, presenting his own couture collection has become an annual event. Famous dresses have been worn by Dutch and international celebrities, like Yolanthe Sneijder, Glennis Grace, Carly Steel and several princesses of the Dutch royal family at state occasions. Miss Nederland is a national Beauty pageant in the Netherlands. The pageant was founded in 1929, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe. History Former pageant From 1929 to 1931, the Netherlands held a national pageant in Amsterdam for the first time called "Miss Holland". From 1932 to 1949 the pageant was briefly discontinued and later recommenced in 1951 by the Miss Holland Organization. In 1951 the Netherlands debuted at the Miss World pageant and the Miss Universe pageant in 1956. The national beauty pageant was called "Miss Holland" from 1950 until 1990, since that year the winner competed at the Miss Universe, while runners-up traditionally competed at the Miss World pageant and the Miss International pageant.
