Avalanche Lake (Avalanchi lake) is located 28 kilometers from Ooty in The Nilgiris District, the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu. Etymology The lake derived the name ''avalanche'' because of a huge landslide (avalanche) that occurred in the region in the early 1800s. Tourism Avalanche Lake is an important tourism destination in The Nilgiris District, the Nilgiris district. The lake is surrounded by a rolling landscape with blooming flowers like magnolias, orchids and rhododendrons. Tourists can traverse beside the lake through winding paths around the lake. Tourists visiting the lake can also engage themselves in Trout fishing. Avalanche Lake (Flathead County, Montana)
Avalanche Lake is located in Glacier National Park, in the U. S. state of Montana. Avalanche Lake is southwest of Bearhat Mountain and receives meltwater from Sperry Glacier. Avalanche Lake is a hike from the trailhead along the Trail of the Cedars. When measured in August 1910, the maximum depth of the lake was 63 feet near the upper end. History Avalanche Lake was named in 1895 by a party including Dr. Lyman Sperry, namesake of the Sperry Glacier, who witnessed many avalanches during their stay. Nature Though most lakes of similar size and elevation in Glacier National Park do not have fish, Avalanche Lake is a popular fishing location among anglers. Avalanche Lake (New York)
Avalanche Lake is a mountain lake located in the Adirondack High Peaks in New York. Avalanche Lake sits at between Mount Colden and Avalanche Mountain. The two mountains rise in vertical cliffs from the surface of the lake. Immediately west of Avalanche Mountain (formerly known as Caribou Mountain) lies the MacIntyre Range: Algonquin Peak (the second highest mountain in the state), Boundary Peak, Iroquois Peak and Mount Marshall. Mount Marcy is to the east. Avalanche Lake feeds Lake Colden to the south, in the Hudson River watershed. To the north, the trail to the lake from the Adirondak Loj surmounts Avalanche Pass, which is only slightly above lake level but separates it from the Lake Champlain (St. Lawrence River) watershed. Following the lake toward Lake Colden, the trail is choked with large boulders, and a number of wooden ladders have been built to make passage possible.
