Auttapon Prakopkong ( th, อรรถพล ประกอบของ, better known as M The Star, romanization variants: ''Attapon'' or ''Attapol'' or ''Attaphol'' from Thai) is a Thai singer and winner of the popular reality TV program '' The Star 2''. Biography He was born September 28, 1978, in Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand). Although his parents were divorced when he was only two years old, his strong determination to be a good person was always kept in his mind. This might be caused by his mother's advice as a teacher. As a teenager, he had a part-time job as a singer at the Public House in Chiang Mai. It led him to his goal of being a professional singer. The first challenge came when he applied to join "The Star 1" together with his friends; Jeiw-Piyanuth and New-Napassorn. Both of the girls went to the final round but he was knocked out in the first round. Romanization Of Thai
There are many systems for the romanization of the Thai language, i.e. representing the language in Latin script. These include systems of transliteration, and transcription. The most seen system in public space is Royal Thai General System of Transcription (RTGS)—the official scheme promulgated by the Royal Thai Institute. It is based on spoken Thai, but disregards tone, vowel length and a few minor sound distinctions. The international standard ISO 11940 is a transliteration system, preserving all aspects of written Thai adding diacritics to the Roman letters. Its extension ISO 11940-2 defines a simplified transcription reflecting the spoken language. It is almost identical to RTGS. Libraries in English-speaking countries use the ALA-LC Romanization. ''The Star'' ( th, เดอะสตาร์ ค้นฟ้าคว้าดาว) is a Thai reality television singing competition produced by Exact, a GMM Grammy company, and broadcast on Modernine TV. It was first broadcast on 7 October 2003 and its fifth season aired during the first half of 2009. It is one of two such television programmes in Thailand, the other being ''Academy Fantasia''. Both feature a number of auditioned contestants competing in weekly concerts, with elimination determined by viewers' voting through SMS, but unlike the other, ''The Star'' does not feature continuous broadcasts of the contestants' lives in a common residence.
