Autry Denson
Autry Lamont Denson (born December 8, 1976) is an American gridiron football coach and former player. He was most recently the head football coach at Charleston Southern University, a position he has held since 2019. Denson played college football as running back at the University of Notre Dame. He played professionally for four seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Miami Dolphins, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Chicago Bears and one season in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Montreal Alouettes. Playing career High school Denson attended Nova High School where he played for Willie Dodaro. College Denson is Notre Dame's all-time leading rusher with 4,318 yards and 43 touchdowns while holding many other rushing records at the University of Notre Dame. Lauderhill, Florida
Lauderhill, officially the City of Lauderhill, is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census,the city's population was 74,482. It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,012,331 people in 2015. Etymology The development that eventually came to be known as Lauderhill was originally to be named "Sunnydale", but William Safire, a friend of the developer, Herbert Sadkin, convinced him to change his mind. Running Back
A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. 1999 NFL Draft
The 1999 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 17–18, 1999, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round — Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb, Akili Smith, Daunte Culpepper, and Cade McNown — the second most (along with the 2018 and 2021 drafts) after the 1983 NFL Draft. The draft also marked the second time after 1971 that the first three selections (Couch, McNabb, and Smith) were quarterbacks. Gator Bowl
The Gator Bowl is an annual college football bowl game held in Jacksonville, Florida, operated by Gator Bowl Sports. It has been held continuously since 1946, making it the sixth oldest college bowl, as well as the first one ever televised nationally. The game was originally played at Gator Bowl Stadium through the December 1993 game. The December 1994 game was played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville after the namesake stadium was demolished to make way for a replacement venue, Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.
