Auton Trilogy
The ''Auton'' trilogy is a series of direct-to-video Spin-off (media), spin-off productions based on the long running BBC science fiction series ''Doctor Who''. The three films in the series are ''Auton'' (1997), ''Auton 2: Sentinel'' (1998; working title, ''Auton 2: The Rapture'') and ''Auton 3'' (1999; working title, ''Auton 3: Awakening''). They were produced by the independent Bill & Ben Video, BBV company and are sequels to the Third Doctor stories ''Spearhead from Space'' and ''Terror of the Autons''. All three films have been reissued on DVD. All story elements relating to ''Doctor Who'' were licensed from their respective authors. Nestene Consciousness
The Autons are an artificial life form from the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' and adversaries of the Doctor. They were originally created by scriptwriter Robert Holmes for Jon Pertwee's first serial as the Doctor, ''Spearhead from Space'' (1970), and were the first monsters to be presented in colour on the series. They returned for the following season's ''Terror of the Autons'' (1971), which also introduced the character of the Master, but they did not appear again in the original series. Holmes intended to feature the Autons for season 23 of ''Doctor Who'' in 1986 in a story entitled ''Yellow Fever and How to Cure It'', which featured the Master and the Rani, but it was abandoned due to the programme being put on an 18th-month hiatus. ''Children of Earth'' is the banner title of the third and penultimate series of the British television science fiction programme ''Torchwood'', which broadcast for five episodes on BBC One from 6 to 10 July 2009. The series had new producer Peter Bennett and was directed by Euros Lyn, who had considerable experience on the revived ''Doctor Who'', ''Torchwood's'' parent show. ''Torchwood'' is a series about an organization known as Torchwood which defends the Earth against alien threats. ''An Adventure in Space and Time'' is a 2013 British biographical television film, starring David Bradley, Brian Cox, Jessica Raine and Sacha Dhawan. Peter Hawkins
Peter John Hawkins (3 April 1924 – 8 July 2006) was a British actor. During the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, he was one of the most sought-after voice artists for radio and television, becoming a regular face and voice around the Soho-based circuit of commercial production studios, and working regularly with actors including Patrick Allen, Edward Judd, and Sir David Jason. Early life A policeman's son, Peter John Hawkins was born on 3 April 1924 in Brixton, south London. He made his first stage appearance as a member of the chorus in a musical sketch at school in Clapham. At 14, he wrote, with three friends, a revue entitled The Five Bs. Cybermen
The Cybermen are a fictional race of cyborgs principally portrayed in the British science fiction television programme '' Doctor Who''. The Cybermen are a species of space-faring cyborgs who often forcefully and painfully convert human beings (or other similar species) into more Cybermen in order to populate their ranks while also removing their emotions and personalities. UNIT stands for United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, a fictional entity in ''Doctor Who''. UNIT first appeared in the Second Doctor serial ''The Invasion (Doctor Who), The Invasion'', (1968), although Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart had appeared earlier in ''The Web of Fear'' (1968) as a Colonel (United Kingdom), colonel. Nicholas Courtney
William Nicholas Stone Courtney (16 December 1929 – 22 February 2011) was an Egyptian-born British actor. He was known for his long-running role as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Early life Courtney was born in Cairo, Egypt, the son of a British diplomat father and half-American mother. His paternal grandfather was the journalist William Leonard Courtney. He was educated in France, Kenya and Egypt. On his maternal side, Courtney was descended from New Zealand politician John Cuff. He did his national service in the British Army, leaving after 18 months as a private, not wanting to pursue a military career.
