Austrian World Summit
The Austrian World Summit is a climate conference which takes places annually in Vienna since 2017. It aims at connecting stakeholders from politics, civil society and business to create a broad alliance for climate protection. It is organised by the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative and took place at the Hofburg palace and the Spanish Riding School in the past. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the initiator of the conference and he organises it together with Monika Langthaler. The summit takes place under the patronage of Austrian president Alexander Van der Bellen. Concept The conference wants to contribute to achieving a full implementation of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals as well as networking of politics, business and finances with the United Nations, NGOs, regions and cities. Maria Neira
María P. Neira (born 1962) is a Spanish physician, international civil servant and diplomat, who has since 2005, served as the Director of the Public Health, Environment and Social Determinants of Health Department (PHE) of the World Health Organization (WHO). Biography María P. Neira studied medicine and surgery at the University of Oviedo in Asturias, Spain. She specialised in endocrinology and metabolic diseases at the Université René Déscartes in Paris, France. She earned a master's degree in public health and a diploma in human nutrition from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, in Paris, France. Thomas Neuwirth (born 6 November 1988) is an Austrian singer and drag queen who is known for his stage persona Conchita Wurst (or simply Conchita). Neuwirth came to international attention after winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 as with the song "Rise Like a Phoenix". Neuwirth has stated that he is not a trans woman. Hubert von Goisern (born Hubert Achleitner, 17 November 1952) is an Austrian singer-songwriter and world musician. With his mix of rock music and elements of traditional Volksmusik he has become a prominent exponent of the so-called New Volksmusik and Alpine Rock in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Kermesse, or kermis, or kirmess, is a Dutch language term derived from 'kerk' (church) and 'mis' (mass) that became borrowed in English, French, Spanish and many other languages, originally denoting the mass said on the anniversary of the foundation of a church (or the parish) and in honour of the patron. Scott Joseph Kelly (born February 21, 1964) is an American engineer, retired astronaut, and naval aviator. A veteran of four space flights, Kelly commanded the International Space Station (ISS) on Expeditions 26, 45, and 46. Kelly's first spaceflight was as pilot of during STS-103 in December 1999. This was the third servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope, and lasted for just under eight days.
