Australian Ninja Warrior (season 1)
The first season of the sports entertainment reality competition series ''Australian Ninja Warrior'' premiered on 9 July 2017 on the Nine Network. The season was hosted by Rebecca Maddern, Ben Fordham & Freddie Flintoff. 50 ninjas ran in each of the five qualifying heats, with the top 18 from each heat moving on to the semi-finals. From the three semi finals, the top 7 competitors moved on to the Grand Final. 9 Competitors finished stage one of the Grand Final, but none completed stage two. Fred Dorrington sat on top of the leaderboard for going the furthest in stage two. Rounds Episode 1 Heat 1 This episode aired on 9 July 2017 and concluded with 11 finishers. Rebecca Maddern
Rebecca Maddern (born 6 August 1977) is an Australian television presenter and journalist. Maddern is currently weekend presenter of ''Seven News Melbourne'' with Mike Amor and presents ''Seven Afternoon News'' in Melbourne. She has worked at Seven Network for over a decade, where she was a presenter and reporter for ''Seven News'' and also presented a variety of programs and events across the network. Maddern has previously worked at the Nine Network, where she was a host of ''Weekend Today,'' host at the Australian Open for Nine's Wide World of Sports and co-host of ''Australian Ninja Warrior''. She is the former co-host of ''The Footy Show'' which she originally signed with the network to do. Georgia Bonora is an Australian former gymnast who represented Australia at the 2008 Summer Olympics, which took place in Beijing, China, and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Damian Istria
Damian Istria (born 24 August 1982) is an Australian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, and the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games. Andrea Hah is an Australian rock climber based in Blue Mountains, known for being the first Australian woman to climb grade 33 with her ascent of ''Tiger Cat'', and her appearance on Australian Ninja Warrior. Adam Cooney (born 30 September 1985) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Justice Crew
Justice Crew is an Australian dance and music group consisting of John and Len Pearce, Lukas Bellesini, Paul Merciadez, Samson Smith, and Solo Tohi. Although the group is Australian, members Samson and Solo are from New Zealand. Ben Fordham (born 29 November 1976) is an Australian journalist, sports reporter and radio presenter. Fordham currently hosts ''Ben Fordham Live'' on Sydney radio station 2GB. Francis Cullimore (born 13 December 1976) is an Australian-born New Zealand former elite athlete. He is a five time multiple sporting professional & Rugby Union/league dual international. Dane Alex Bird-Smith (born 15 July 1992) is an Australian racewalking athlete. He competes in the 20 kilometres race walk, and has a best of 1:19:28 hours for the distance, set in 2017.
