Australian Idol (season 8)
The eighth season of '' Australian Idol'' premiered on 30 January 2023. It is the show's first season since 2009. It aired on Seven Network, after the network bought the rights to the series from Network 10. The grand final was won by Royston Sagigi-Baira, also known as Royston Noell, whose winner's single, "Invincible", was released after the grand final on 26 March 2023. Production On 21 October 2020, Seven Network announced at their annual upfronts that they will be reviving the series, originally slated for 2022. It was later delayed until 2023. Ricki-Lee Coulter and Scott Tweedie are the hosts, with the judging panel consisting of former ''American Idol'' judge Harry Connick Jr., former ''Australian Idol'' judge Kyle Sandilands, Amy Shark and Meghan Trainor. Ricki-Lee Coulter
Ricki-Lee Dawn Coulter (born 10 November 1985), also known mononymously as Ricki-Lee, is a New Zealand-born Australian singer, songwriter, television, and radio presenter. She was born in Auckland, New Zealand, grew up on the Gold Coast, Queensland and began performing at the age of 15. Coulter rose to fame in 2004 on the Australian Idol (season 2), second season of ''Australian Idol'' and placed seventh in the competition. Sash Seabourne
A sash is a large and usually colorful ribbon or band of material worn around the body, either draping from one shoulder to the opposing hip and back up, or else running around the waist. Shellharbour (also known as Shellharbour Village) is a suburb located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. TV Tonight is an Australian-based website which features reviews, news and programming information related to television in Australia as well as OzTAM ratings information. The site was started by television critic David Knox in 2007 after listeners of his radio programs asked him for information they had missed. Royston Sagigi-Baira, also known as Royston Noell, is an Australian singer best known for winning the eighth season of ''Australian Idol'' in 2023. He officially won the title in March 2023, $100,000 prize money and a recording contract with Sony Music Australia. Early life Royston Sagigi-Baira is a Thanakwith (Aboriginal) and Wagadagam (Torres Strait Islander) man from Mapoon, Queensland.
