Australia Fair Shopping Centre is a dual-level regional shopping centre covering located in Southport, Gold Coast, Queensland. The centre also incorporates a five-level office tower comprising of office space, housing specialist services and commercial offices. History ;1983: Australia Fair West, originally known as Scarborough Fair, was built and anchored by Franklins. It was constructed on the former site of administrative and bottling buildings for the South Coast Co-Operative Dairy Association, which was designed by architects T.R. Hall and L.B. Phillips in 1936 on the corner of Scarborough and Young Streets. The dairy buildings were demolished in 1972. Gold Coast University Hospital (abbreviated GCUH or GCH, and sometimes Gold Coast Uni Hospital) is a major health facility offering tertiary level health care for the Gold Coast, Australia, completed in September 2013. The hospital was built on the Greenfields site adjacent to Griffith University Gold Coast campus at a cost of $1.8 billion. Biggera Waters is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , Biggera Waters had a population of 8,534 people. Main Beach (originally Southport East) is a coastal town and suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , the suburb of Main Beach had a population of 3,883 people. Geography Historically, the Main Beach area was a narrow strip of coastal sand dunes separating the mouth of the Nerang River () from the Coral Sea. Narrow Neck formed the southern boundary and to the north was a long sand spit terminated by the bar between the Broadwater and the sea. Helensvale railway station is a major public transport interchange in the Gold Coast suburb of Helensvale. Helensvale railway station is served by the Queensland Rail Citytrain network Gold Coast line, G:link light rail and Surfside Buslines bus services. History Helensvale station opened on 25 February 1996 as the terminus of the Gold Coast line from Beenleigh. The line was later extended to Nerang on 16 December 1997.
