Austin Wonaeamirri
Austin Wonaeamirri (born 2 October 1988) is a professional Australian rules football player of indigenous ( Tiwi) origin. He previously played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Wonaeamirri was born and grew up on the Tiwi Islands in the remote community of Snake Bay and Milikapiti, on Melville Island. He began playing football at the age of six and as a junior, he played in the Tiwi Islands Football League. He lost his mother at the age of 12 and was brought up by his father, Matthew. Wonaeamirri played senior football in both the TIFL and the Northern Territory Football League in Darwin, Northern Territory, where he was a junior star for the St Mary's Football Club. He was named in the inaugural list of the Tiwi Bombers, as one of their youngest stars. Flying Boomerangs
The Flying Boomerangs are the underage Indigenous Australian Australian rules football team for men (the underage women's team is known as the ''Woomeras''). The team has played tests against junior teams from Papua New Guinea, South Africa, New Zealand and developing pacific nations. History In 2013, the Flying Boomerangs toured to play the South African national Australian rules football team in both Australia and South Africa. They toured Papua New Guinea, the first international team to defeat them in Australian rules football and also New Zealand winning both matches. Tiwi Bombers Football Club
The Tiwi Bombers Football Club is an Australian rules football club, currently competing in the Northern Territory Football League. The club is notable as being the first all- Aboriginal team to play in a major competition. The team is affiliated with the Essendon Football Club, where two famous Tiwi Island products Michael Long and Dean Rioli played their football in the national Australian Football League (AFL). Essendon provided jumpers for the team and the team adopted the "Bombers" moniker. The team's initial name was Tiwi Storm. Aaron Davey
Aaron Davey (born 10 June 1983) is a professional Australian rules football player of Indigenous Australian heritage. He played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) until he retired from the club at the end of the 2013 season. Davey finished runner-up in the AFL Rising Star in 2004. He is one of few successful top-level footballers to have been elevated from the rookie list. 2007 AFL Under 18 Championships
The 2007 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships was the 12th edition of the AFL Under 18 Championships. Eight teams competed in the championships: Vic Metro, Vic Country, South Australia and Western Australia in Division 1, and New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory (NSW/ACT), Northern Territory, Queensland and Tasmania in Division 2. The competition was played over three rounds across two divisions. The Australian Football League draft is the annual draft of unsigned players, especially new nominations, by Australian rules football teams that participate in the main competition of that sport, the Australian Football League (AFL).
