Austin Corbett
Austin Corbett (born September 5, 1995) is an American football guard for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). Corbett played for Reed High School in Sparks, Nevada. Starting as a walk on, he played college football at Nevada. College career Before the 2017 season, Corbett had more experience than any other offensive lineman on the Wolf Pack. After the season, he received several team honors including being named the Basalite Big Blocker and a team captain. Following his senior season, Corbett was named as a semifinalist for the 2017 Burlsworth Trophy. He was also invited to the 2018 Senior Bowl. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. The Burlsworth Trophy is an award given annually to the most outstanding FBS college football player who began his career as a walk-on. It was first awarded for the 2010 season and is a program of the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation. Burlsworth walked on to the Arkansas Razorbacks football program in 1994 and became an All-American. He was killed in a car accident 11 days after being selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 1999 NFL draft.
