Aurora High School (Ontario)
Aurora High School is one of five high schools in Aurora, Ontario, and is one of two under the jurisdiction of the York Region District School Board. It serves students from Grades 9 to 12. Aurora High School has a strong French immersion program, and used to serve as the feeder school for many local French immersion public schools, however as of the 2019-2020 school year, the only French immersion elementary school is Lester B. Pearson PS in Aurora. This includes Aurora, Whitchurch-Stouffville, Oak Ridges, and King City History The original Aurora High School was built in 1888 on Wells Street. This building was rebuilt in 1923. Parts of this school building are incorporated into the Wells Street Lofts residential complex. The high school student population eventually outgrew the Wells Street building and a new high school was built on Dunning Avenue. Aurora Central High School
Aurora Central High School is a high school in Aurora, Colorado. It was originally named Aurora High School and was the first high school in Aurora Public Schools. When Hinkley High School was built in 1963, this school was renamed to its present title. The first class to graduate from the existing location was the Class of 1956. School shooting On November 15, 2021 around 12:45 P.M., a shooting happened at a small park close to the high school. Six students from the school were shot with non–life threatening injuries. 30–50 shots were fired from people in a car and from people on foot. Demographics For the 2014-2015 school year, there were 2,188 students enrolled at Aurora Central High School. Aurora Alternative High School (Indiana)
Aurora Alternative High School was a high school in Bloomington, Indiana (United States). The Bloomington Graduation School replaced the Aurora Alternative School shortly after it closed. The overlap in services and population essentially amounted to the closing of Aurora and opening of the Graduation School as a rebranding of Aurora, yet with large changes and relocation to a different building. Aurora Alternative High School was for kids who were not successful in traditional schools or just wanted a fresh start in school life. It was also a school of choice, so a student did not have to go there, and students could choose to drop out of the school if it didn't suit their needs.
