Aurelio Sousa Matute
Aurelio Sousa y Matute (August 31, 1860 – February 26, 1925) was a Peruvian lawyer and politician. He was born in the Cajamarca Region of Peru. He graduated from the National University of San Marcos. He served in the Chamber of Deputies of Peru and was its President of the Congress of Peru, president from 1899 to 1900. He also served in the Senate of Peru. He served as minister of justice (August 22–October 22, 1914), interior (June 17–July 27, 1913) and Minister of Finance of Peru, minister of economy and finance (September 22–November 11, 1914) in the Government of Peru. He was twice Prime Minister of Peru (June–July 1913, August–November 1914). He died in Nice, France. References Bibliography

Jorge Basadre
Jorge Alfredo Basadre Grohmann (February 12, 1903 – June 29, 1980) was a Peruvian historian known for his extensive publications about the independent history of his country. He served during two different administrations as Minister of Education and was also director of the Peruvian National Library. Early life Jorge Basadre was born to Carlos Basadre Forero and Olga Eloísa Grohmann Butler in Tacna, which was then under Chilean administration. Basadre said that his great grandfather was José Toribio Ara y Cáceres, a cacique who participated in the Peruvian War of Independence. Basadre began his training at the Liceo Santa Rosa, a Peruvian school that operated clandestinely in Tacna but changed to the German School of Lima when his family moved to this city in 1912. He undertook his final year of secondary education at Our Lady of Guadalupe National School in 1918.
