Auld Reekie Roller Girls
Auld Reekie Roller Derby (ARRD) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Founded in 2008, ARRD was the first Scottish Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) member. The league aims to create teams with the ability to compete locally and internationally at the highest levels. ARRD play by the rules of the WFTDA, and were officially accepted as an Apprentice League on 5 October 2010. The league graduated as full members of the WFTDA on 1 September 2011. History Formed in April 2008 as Auld Reekie Roller Girls, ARRD were Edinburgh's first women's flat track roller derby league, and take their name after the city of Edinburgh, affectionately known as "Auld Reekie" ("Old Smoky" in the Scots language). Dalkeith
Dalkeith ( ; gd, Dail Cheith, IPA: ˆt̪alˈçe is a town in Midlothian, Scotland, on the River Esk. It was granted a burgh of barony in 1401 and a burgh of regality in 1540. The settlement of Dalkeith grew southwestwards from its 12th-century castle (now Dalkeith Palace). Dalkeith has a population of 12,342 people according to the 2011 census. Women's Flat Track Derby Association Rankings
Rankings for the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) are used to determine placement in overall standings (rather than win–loss record) and also to determine seedings at WFTDA Playoffs. Achieving high rankings is also a goal for teams aiming to increase their stature in the organization. Each year at the end of June, teams are seeded into Division 1 and Division 2 playoff tournaments. Historically, the top 40 teams in the WFTDA as of June 30 were eligible for Division 1 tournaments that season, and the teams ranked 41–60 were eligible for Division 2 tournaments. For 2017, the Division 1 cutoff was reduced to the top 36 teams, with the next 16 teams qualifying for Division 2 Playoffs. Twister City Roller Derby (TCRD) (formerly the Oklahoma Victory Dolls (OKVD) ) is a flat-track roller derby league based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Founded in 2007, the league currently consists of two competitive teams which compete internationally against teams from other leagues, as well as home teams. The current league is a result of two previous mergers: with the OKC Outlaws in 2015, and Oklahoma City Roller Derby in 2016. Dublin Roller Derby (DRD) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 2009, Dublin Roller Derby is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History The Dublin Roller Girls were the first roller derby league to form in Ireland. Their intra-league bout in June 2011 was the first public roller derby in the country. In their first bouting season, the Dublin Roller Girls played seven bouts, scoring four wins. Nine skaters from the league were selected for Team Ireland at the Roller Derby World Cup in 2011, while Dublin also supplied the head coach and the manager for the team. In early 2012, they moved to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght. That year, Dublin's A team played ten bouts with seven wins.
