Augustine Geve
Augustine Geve (died 2002) was a Solomon Islands Catholic priest and politician. He was first elected to National Parliament of Solomon Islands, Parliament in the 2001 Solomon Islands general election, December 2001 general election, as MP for South Guadalcanal, at the time of the History of the Solomon Islands#Civil war, violent ethnic conflict on Guadalcanal. He was then appointed Minister for Youth, Women and Sports in Prime Minister Allan Kemakeza's Cabinet. On August 20, 2002, he was assassination, assassinated by Ronnie Cawa, Francis Lela and warlord Harold Keke "on a remote beach" on Guadalcanal. The three men were convicted for the crime and several other murders in March 2005 by High Court judge (and future Governor-General of Solomon Islands, Governor General) Frank Kabui, who sentenced them to life in jail. Frank Kabui
Sir Frank Utu Ofagioro Kabui, GCMG, CSI, OBE KStJ (born 20 April 1946) was the Governor General of the Solomon Islands from 7 July 2009 to 7 July 2019. He is also a trained judge, having been his country's first law graduate in 1975, and is a former member of the Solomon Islands Bar Association (SIBA), having twice served as its president. Career Legal career Kabui was born on 20 April 1946. He is a former High Court judge and Attorney General. He was twice elected President of the Solomon Islands Bar Association, the second time in 2007 to succeed Ranjit Hewagama. Whereas David Campbell was the Solomon Islands' first local lawyer, Kabui was the country's first law graduate upon completing his studies at the University of Papua New Guinea in 1975.
