Augustine Dominguez
Augustine "Willie" Dominguez (born July 30, 1955) is a Democrat, and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. He represented District 58B, which includes portions of downtown and north Minneapolis, from 2007 to 2009. He lost the district DFL Party's endorsement to Bobby Joe Champion in 2008. He then opted to run in the primary election, again losing to Champion, who went on to win in the general election on November 4, 2008. While in the House, Dominguez was a member of the Commerce and Labor Committee and the Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs Committee. He also served on the Agriculture, Rural Economies and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee for the Veterans Affairs Division, on the Finance subcommittees for the K-12 Finance Division, the K-12 Finance Division-Disparities in Student Support and Service (which he chaired), and the Public Safety Finance Division. Keith Ellison (politician)
Keith Maurice Ellison (born August 4, 1963) is an American politician and lawyer serving as the 30th attorney general of Minnesota. A member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), Ellison was the U.S. representative for from 2007 to 2019. He also served as the titular deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2017 to 2018. In Congress, Ellison was a vice-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and a Chief Deputy Whip. He also sat on the House Committee on Financial Services. Ellison was the first Muslim to be elected to Congress and the first African American representative from Minnesota. Minneapolis North High School
North Community High School, or simply Minneapolis North, is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The school has existed for over 120 years in several buildings all located on the city's northside. Minneapolis North once had a predominantly Jewish student body but by 1982, the school and the neighborhood it is located in had become mostly African American. Desegregation efforts, such as magnet school programs, have attempted to attract students from throughout Minneapolis and nearby suburbs. KBEM-FM, established by Minneapolis Public Schools in 1970, is operated partially by North students and has been located at the school since 1985. History North has occupied four buildings. KFAI
KFAI (90.3 FM Minneapolis) is a community radio station in Minnesota. The station broadcasts a wide variety of music, and also airs programming catering to many of the diverse ethnic groups of the region. KFAI has frequently been honored by local media critics for its shows and musical diversity (for instance, the local alternative weekly ''City Pages'' has frequently included it in the annual "Best of the Twin Cities" awards). The station offers public access services, so they encourage anyone in the community to make their own show and have it broadcast over the air. Bobby Joe Champion (born December 17, 1963) is an American attorney and politician serving as a member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he represents the 59th district, which includes portions of downtown and north Minneapolis in Hennepin County.
