Auguste-Armand De La Force
Auguste Armand Ghislain Marie Joseph Nompar de Caumont de La Force (18 August 1878, Dieppe – 3 October 1961, Saint-Aubin-de-Locquenay), 12th Duke of La Force, was a French duke and historian. Specialising in the 17th century (he was himself a descendant of the 1000-year-old Caumont de la Force family), his work allowed him to reconstruct events in which his ancestors had taken part. He was elected a member of the Académie française on 19 November 1925. Dieppe, Seine-Maritime
Dieppe (; Norman: ''Dgieppe'') is a coastal commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region of northern France. Dieppe is a seaport on the English Channel at the mouth of the river Arques. A regular ferry service runs to Newhaven in England. Famous for its scallops, Dieppe also has a popular pebbled beach, a 15th-century castle and the churches of Saint-Jacques and Saint-Remi. The mouth of the river Scie lies at Hautot-sur-Mer, directly to the west of Dieppe. The inhabitants of the town of Dieppe are called ''Dieppois'' (m) and ''Dieppoise'' (f) in French. Anne Nompar De Caumont (1753-1832)
Anne, Countess de Balbi (19 August 1753 – 3 April 1842) was a French aristocrat and lady-in-waiting. She is foremost known as a mistress of the Count of Provence from 1780 to 1791, who later became Louis XVIII. Life Family Anne was born in the Chateau La Force, as the daughter of the Duke Bertrand Nompar de Caumont de la Force (1724-1773), an official at the court of King Louis XV and First Gentleman of the Bedchamber for the Count of Provence, and his wife Adelaide-Luce-Madeleine de Galard de Brassac de Béarn (1739-1829), governess of the children of the Count of Artois. She was married to Count Francesco Marie Armand de Balbi (1752-1835), with whom she had four daughters. Mistress of the Count of Provence Anne was described as a witty and humorous beauty, but also attracted enemies with her relentlessness.
