August Von Bayer
August von Bayer (1803-1875) was a German painter of architectural subjects Life Bayer was born in May 1803 into a patrician Catholic family in Rorschach, Switzerland, Rorschach. He studied architecture under Friedrich Weinbrenner, Weinbrenner, at Karlsruhe. In the mid-1820s he went to Munich, with the intention of pursuing a career in architecture, but soon turned to painting instead. His architectural education did, however provide him with a knowledge of construction rare amongst painters. He combined this knowledge with outstanding gifts as a colourist, which allowed him to tackle the most subtle effects of light. In the early 1840s he moved to Baden-Baden, where his work came to the attention of a wider circle of prominent admirers, including Friedrich Wilhelm IV, King of Hanover, and Queen Augusta of Prussia. The Neue Pinakothek (, ''New Pinacotheca'') is an art museum in Munich, Germany. Its focus is European Art of the 18th and 19th centuries, and it is one of the most important museums of art of the nineteenth century in the world. Together with the Alte Pinakothek and the Pinakothek der Moderne, it is part of Munich's "Kunstareal" (the "art area"). The building The museum was founded by King Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1853. Maulbronn Abbey
Maulbronn Monastery (german: Kloster Maulbronn) is a former Cistercian abbey and ecclesiastical state in the Holy Roman Empire located at Maulbronn, Baden-Württemberg. The monastery complex, one of the best-preserved in Europe, was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. The monastery was founded in 1147 and experienced rapid economic and political growth in the 12th century, but then hardship in the late 13th century and the 14th century. Prosperity returned in the 15th century and lasted until Maulbronn was annexed by the Duchy of Württemberg in 1504. Over the 16th century, the Cistercian monastery was dissolved and replaced with a Protestant seminary. It also became the seat of an important administrative district of the Duchy and later Kingdom of Württemberg.
