Auggen
Auggen is a municipality in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It also belongs to a region called Markgräflerland that has both cultural and historical importance. Auggen has attached to it, a smaller administrative part called Hach. Hach lies to the northeast of Auggen. Auggen lies at the southern end of Breisgau. The area is known, amongst other things, for its biodynamic wine. Economy Auggen has a discount Grocery store called "Netto", a free-standing bakery on the hauptstrasse, some restaurants, a small drugstore, and a petrol (gas) station which has a convenience store attached to it. Dietrich Koger
Dietrich Koger (24 March 1608 - 27 November 1688) was a magistrate who served as Mayor and Vogt of Auggen, Holy Roman Empire (present day Germany) from 1629 until 1661. Prior to 1629, Koger served as Sergeant-at-Arms of Weil am Rhein. Dietrich Koger is the son of magistrate, and former Vogt of Weil am Rhein, Nicholas 'Claus' Koger. Dietrich Koger was married twice, the first to Maria Leininger on 24 August 1629 - daughter of Hans Leininger, until her death on 30 April 1643 during pregnancy. Koger's second wife, Anna Hagin, was daughter of the Vogt of Tannenkirch, George Hagin. In the mid-seventeenth century, Koger became the first magistrate to affix a seal with his own crest and coat of arms depicting a plough and vine-knife. Neuenburg Am Rhein
Neuenburg am Rhein (High Alemannic: ''Neiburg am Rhi'') is a town in the district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Geography Geographical location Neuenburg is elevated on the right bank of the Altrhein on a terrace between the Vosges and the Black Forest, halfway between Freiburg im Breisgau and Basel at the former confluence of the Klemmbach in the Rhine. Here, a path from the Black Forest (Todtnau) to Mulhouse, the current Bundesstraße 378, crosses with the old waterway transport route Rhine. In addition, at the time of the town's founding by the Zähringer, one of the few fords across the Rhine was located here. Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald
Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald (french: Arrondissement de Brisgau-Haute-Forêt-Noire) is a (district) in the southwest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Fifty towns and municipalities with 133 settlements lie within the district. The district itself belongs to the region of Freiburg with the region of Southern Upper Rhine. The municipal offices are in the city of Freiburg im Breisgau which is almost entirely surrounded by Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, but is independent of it. Müllheim
Müllheim (High Alemannic: ''Mille'') is a town in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It belongs to the district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald. Müllheim is generally considered to be the center of the region known as Markgräflerland. History On October 27, 758 Strachfried gave as a gift to the monastery of St. Gallen his properties in Müllheim, including the vineyards. This deed is in the archives of St. Gallen and it is where we today can find the first written reference to the "''villa Mulinhaimo''", which is the current city of Müllheim. Archeology shows however that Müllheim was inhabited even earlier than this. During the renovation of the Martin's church in 1980 and 1981 the workers came upon a portion of a Roman villa.
