''Auf der Maur'' is the eponymous debut studio album by the Canadian alternative rock musician Melissa Auf der Maur, released on February 2, 2004 on Capitol Records. Following her career as a bassist for Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins, Auf der Maur recorded the album over the course of two years in various studios through the United States and Canada with producer Chris Goss. The songs featured on ''Auf der Maur'' were written over a ten-year period, from 1992 to 2002, throughout her time in Tinker, Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins. ''Auf der Maur'' features a number of guest musicians and collaborators including former bandmates Eric Erlandson and James Iha, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Mark Lanegan, Jeordie White and John Stanier. Melissa Auf Der Maur
Melissa Gaboriau Auf der Maur (; born March 17, 1972) is a Canadian musician. Auf der Maur began performing in 1993 after forming the indie rock band Tinker while she was a student at Concordia University. She was recruited as the bassist for the American alternative rock band Hole in the summer of 1994 and is included on several Hole releases, including the album ''Celebrity Skin'' (1998). Following her departure from Hole in 1999, Auf der Maur briefly joined The Smashing Pumpkins as a touring member for its 2000 tour and began her solo career; her debut studio album, ''Auf der Maur'', was released in 2004 on Capitol Records and her second studio album, '' Out of Our Minds'', was released in 2010 on her own independent record label, PHI–MAdM Music. Jeordie White
Jeordie Osbourne White (born June 20, 1971), better known Twiggy Ramirez or simply Twiggy, is an American musician, mostly known as the former bassist and guitarist of the rock band Marilyn Manson. Previously, he was the bassist for A Perfect Circle and a touring member of Nine Inch Nails, and is currently the vocalist for Goon Moon. He left Marilyn Manson in 2002, later rejoined the band in 2008, and was dismissed in 2017. He has been a principal songwriter for the band and has also contributed to some of the Desert Sessions recordings. He also hosted the Hour of Goon podcast with fellow musician Fred Sablan, on the Starburns Audio network. Steve Durand
Stephen "Steve" Durand (born) is a Canadian rock musician, most notable for his work with Tinker and his involvement with Melissa Auf der Maur. Early musical career Born in Cantley, Quebec, Durand met Melissa Auf der Maur, a fellow student at Concordia University, while she was DJing at a bar on Montréal's Boulevard Saint-Laurent. After a number of jam sessions, Auf der Maur and Durand recruited drummer Jordon Zadorozny and formed Tinker in 1993. Tinker gained reputation in the local music scene and released two singles throughout the course of their career, "Green Machine" and " Real a Lie", the latter of which would be reworked by bandmate Auf der Maur during her solo career. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays).
