Auer (Odenwald)
The Auer (also called Mühlbach or Ziegelbach) is a river in Hesse, Germany which springs from the western edge of the Felsberg in the Hessian Odenwald between Balkhausen and Bensheim-Hochstädten. It measures 6.7 kilometers in length and is part of the Rhine river system. Mühlbach The Auer has ten tributaries and flows through the Bensheim district of Hochstädten, past the Marble factory and the through the valley Mühltal towards Bensheim-Auerbach. In the past, there were seven mills in the Mühltal powered by the Auer's water. Therefore here the brook's vernacular name is Mühlbach (mill brook). The mill in the village's center is nowadays a wine restaurant, another mill is a nursing home, and another mill is the studio and residential house of an Auerbach-based artist. Auer Mühlbach
Auer Mühlbach is a river in Bavaria, Germany. It is a branch of the Isar in the southern part of Munich. History Long before the "official" founding of the city of Munich, the water power of the Isar was used for the operation of mills. Since the Isar was a wild mountain river and until its increasing regulation from the 19th century on, it frequently changed its course and showed strong level fluctuations. The mill wheels in the Munich area were not built at the unpredictable main branch, but at a regulable, artificially diverted side branch with as constant a water flow as possible, the ''Mühlbach''. The first written mention of the stream and a mill at ''Kiesingenum'' (today Untergiesing) is found in a document from the year 957. Auer (; it, Ora ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about south of the city of Bolzano. Auer rods (or Auer bodies) are large, crystalline cytoplasmic inclusion bodies sometimes observed in myeloid blast cells during acute myeloid leukemia, acute promyelocytic leukemia, high-grade myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative disorders. Composed of fused lysosomes and rich in lysosomal enzymes, Auer rods are azurophilic and can resemble needles, commas, diamonds, rectangles, corkscrews, or (rarely) granules. Eponym Although Auer rods are named for American physiologist John Auer, they were first described in 1905 by Canadian physician Thomas McCrae, then at Johns Hopkins Hospital, as Auer himself acknowledged in his 1906 paper. Both McCrae and Auer mistakenly thought that the cells containing the rods were lymphoblasts. Auer Dult
The Auer Dult is a traditional fair in Munich, Germany, combinding a market and a German style folk festival. It takes place three times per year on the Mariahilfplatz in the Munich district of Au, fuelled by around three hundred traders and showmen, by the rule. Both sections - market and funfair - are separated by the neo-gothic Mariahilfkirche (Mariahilf Church) in the very middle of the square. In contrast to the Oktoberfest and the Munich Spring Festival (''Münchner Frühlingsfest''), the Auer Dult is much less touristy, but way more local, discreet and calm. In the course of the year, around 300,000 visitors are counted. The first fair of the year, the so-called ''Maidult'' (May fair) starts on the first Saturday of the month.
