''Fauna'' is the debut studio album by Danish singer Oh Land Nanna Øland Fabricius (born 2 May 1985), better known by her stage name Oh Land, is a Danish musician, singer, songwriter, actress and television personality. Early life Oh Land was born in Copenhagen, the daughter of Bendt Fabricius, an orga .... It was released in Denmark on 10 November 2008 by Danish independent label Fake Diamond Records. The album received generally positive acclaim in her home country. To celebrate 10 years since the release of ''Fauna'', on 10 November 2018, it was released on a 12" limited light blue 180g vinyl, packaged in a gatefold cover and accompanied by a 16-page booklet. Nanna Øland Fabricius (born 2 May 1985), better known by her stage name Oh Land, is a Danish musician, singer, songwriter, actress and television personality. Early life Oh Land was born in Copenhagen, the daughter of Bendt Fabricius, an organist (not to be confused with the composer Bent Fabricius Bjerre), and Bodil Øland, an opera singer. She is the great-great-grandchild of Lutheran missionary and ethnographer Otto Fabricius, who published ''Fauna Groenlandica'' in 1780, the first zoological observations of Greenland. She is a former student of the Royal Danish and Royal Swedish Ballet schools. However, an injury caused by a slipped disc and spinal fracture put an end to her dancing career, which eventually led her to start making music. She moved to New York City in January 2010 where she lived in the Williamsburg neighbourhood of Brooklyn. Filur (band)
Filur is a Danish duo band established in 1999 and made up of producer Tomas Barfod and of Kasper Bjørke (on lead vocals). They also feature many guest artists for their releases. Filur has released 4 albums and many successful singles. They are best known for the hit "I Want You", which was the 4th most played Danish work outside of Denmark in 2005. They were also popular in Italy where they had charting hits "It's alright" and "Shame" both credited to "Filur meets Miss Nellie Ettison". Both were released in 2001. The duo has toured extensively in the United States, Europe and Japan and had special album release ''Peace'' for the Japanese market. The band has won two DMA awards for "Best Producers" and "Best Dance Album". Tomas Barfod has been also involved in WhoMadeWho, whereas Kasper Bjørke concentrated on his solo work and for producing other artists. ''Oh Land'' is the second studio album by Danish singer Oh Land, released on 14 March 2011 by Fake Diamond Records, Epic Records, and A:larm Music. Before moving to Brooklyn in 2010, she met with a representative from Epic Records at a SXSW event and was eventually signed to the label in 2009. She began working on the album, collaborating with musicians like Jimmy Harry, Dan Carey, and Lester Mendez. A digital extended play titled ''Oh Land EP'' was released in October 2010, featuring five songs that would later appear on the parent album. The album was produced by Carey, Mendez, Dave McCracken, Kristian Leth, and Fridolin Nordsø. ''Oh Land'' covers various genres, such as club, dance, and electropop music. Other influences for the singer included disco and synth-pop.
