''Audio Noir'' is the debut studio album by the English heavy metal band Bossk. It was recorded by Martin Ruffin at In Lieu of a Studio in Battle, East Sussex, and released via Deathwish Inc. on 1 April 2016. Background ''Audio Noir'' was recorded, engineered, mixed and produced at In Lieu Of A Studio in Battle, East Sussex by Martin Ruffin in the summer of 2015 and completed in September 2015. Premier single “Kobe” debuted on BBC’s ''Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter'' and was made available for streaming on 8 February 2016. The same day the track listing and title, ''Audio Noir'' was announced and set to be released on 1 April 2016 via Deathwish Records. Four days later the video for “Kobe” premiered via ''Nerdist'' along with the album art work. On the day of release, the full album was streamed via BandCamp. Bossk are a British heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Ashford, Kent in 2005. The band released a string of EPs and smaller releases through QnotQ and Eyesofsound until they broke up in 2008. After reuniting in 2012, they released a new single, "Pick Up Artist" (2013), and their debut studio album, ''Audio Noir'' (2016). They are named after a minor alien character in ‘’The Empire Strikes Back’’. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s. Post-metal
Post-metal is a music genre rooted in heavy metal but exploring approaches beyond metal conventions. It emerged in the 1990s with bands such as Neurosis and Godflesh, who transformed metal texture through experimental composition. In a way similar to the predecessor genres post-rock and post-hardcore, post-metal offsets the darkness and intensity of extreme metal with an emphasis on atmosphere, emotion, and even "revelation", developing an expansive but introspective sound variously imbued with elements of ambient, noise, psychedelic, progressive, and classical music. Songs are typically long, with loose and layered structures that discard the verse–chorus form in favor of crescendos and repeating themes. Seldon Hunt (born 1969, in Melbourne and migrated to New York in 2006, (now residing in Brooklyn) is an artist best known for his photography and his graphic artwork (on album covers and promotional poster) for rock musicians. Hunt's photography usually consists of thick undergrowth yet is often devoid of any human presence. His work has been compared to the romantic landscape painting of the 19th Century. His influences include the works of Vaughan Oliver and Neville Brody. Hunt is best known in the world of music for his graphic works – often extremely complex – for rock bands Neurosis, Earth, Jesu, Isis, Dälek, Mick Harris, Acid Mothers Temple, and the Melvins. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States.
