Auburn University Historic District
The Auburn University Historic District comprises the historic core of Auburn University in Alabama. The district includes buildings built between 1846 and 1951, with a consistent red brick material palette. Buildings in the district include Samford Hall (1888), The Lathe (1860s), Langdon Hall (1846), the Music Building (1887-1888), Broun Engineering Hall (1906-1910), Mary E. Martin Hall (1908), the Music Annex or Power Plant (1905), the early 20th-century Langdon Shops, and Biggin Hall (1951). Auburn Commercial Historic District
The Auburn Commercial Historic District encompasses the main late 19th-century historic downtown area of Auburn, Maine. The twelve buildings in the district represent the city's growth between 1855 and 1902, housing businesses, professional offices and social halls, and also the city's municipal offices. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. Description Auburn rose on the banks of the Androscoggin River with the humble beginnings of a log driver's camp in the late 19th century, and did not benefit in the 19th century industrialization the way neighboring Lewiston did, which had a more suitable siting for textile mills. A bridge across the river in 1822-23 spurred some development, including along the roads which are now Main and Court Streets. The arrival of the railroad in 1848, and the choice of Auburn in 1854 to be the seat of the new Androscoggin County cemented the importance of the area where downtown Auburn is now located.Mitche ... Downtown Auburn Historic District is a national historic district located at Auburn, DeKalb County, Indiana. The district encompasses 52 contributing buildings in the central business district of Auburn. The district developed between about 1870 and 1935, and includes notable examples of Victorian, Classical Revival, Romanesque Revival, and Colonial Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the DeKalb County Courthouse (1911-1914), Henry Opera House (1917), DeKalb County Jail (1918), Commercial Club (1917), Auburn City Hall (1913), South Interurban Station (c. 1910), Dilgard Building (c. 1920–1930), Y.M.C.A.
