Fort Aubrey
Fort Aubrey, in eastern Hamilton County, Kansas, was established by the US Army in the 1850s. It originally had no name and was not made a truly permanent post until 1865. It was originally established to serve as a temporary resting place for traveling troops. The location of the fort is based upon a recommendation by François Xavier Aubry, for whom the fort is named. The intermittent camp was established at the site of a spring fifteen feet wide and three feet deep. The spring was on Spring Creek, near the Arkansas River, and was on the Santa Fe Trail. The spring was used by soldiers, civilian travelers and Indians as they passed through the area. The camp had no name for most of its existence. Some structures were built there and these were at times left completely unused. Sometimes details of a few men stayed in the camp to keep it ready for use. ''Aubrey'' is a 1980 British cartoon series. There was just one season of 39 cartoons in colour, each lasting six minutes. They were produced by D. P. Films (Derek Phillips films) for ITV channel. The cartoons were directed by Derek Phillips, who also produced them. The animators were Martin Chatfield, Andy Wagner, Rose Welsh and Joanne Gooding. Aubrey was a small round orange character with a huge nose who had many different adventures. Aubrey Valley
Aubrey Valley is a 35-mile (56 km) long valley located in southwest Coconino County, Arizona with the northwest border of Yavapai County. The valley is located at the southwest border of the Aubrey Cliffs; to the west and southwest, the Yampai Divide and the Seventyfour Plains form flatlands between four bordering mountain ranges at the northwest terminus of the Arizona transition zone. The Aubrey Cliffs form the east and northeast valley border, and are part of the escarpment at the southwest perimeter of the Coconino Plateau, southwest Colorado Plateau. The Aubrey Peak Wilderness is a wilderness administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The wilderness is located in northwest Arizona in the southwest of Mohave County, a region of the southeastern Mojave Desert's extension into northwest Arizona. The wilderness is one of two in the Rawhide Mountains, which border the north bank of the west-flowing Bill Williams River.
