Aubree Munro
Aubree Munro Watson (born October 4, 1993) is an American, former college softball player, medal-winning Olympian, professional softball catcher. She played college softball for the Florida Gators where she won two NCAA Championships, and played professionally for the USSSA Pride of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF). She is currently a member of the United States women's national softball team, and represented Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal. College career Munro won back-to-back NCAA Championships with the Florida Gators in 2014 and 2015. During her junior year in 2015, she became one of nine Gators to record a perfect fielding percentage (minimum 50 chances) in a season. She did not made an error in 354 chances behind the plate. During her final two seasons she committed just one error in 874 chances and made only four miscues in 1,423 chances during her career, which tied for second in program history. Softball At The 2019 Pan American Games
Softball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru are scheduled to be held from July 25 to August 10. The venue for the competition is the softball stadium located at the Villa María del Triunfo cluster. A total of six men's and six women's teams (each consisting up to 15 athletes) competed in each tournament. This means a total of 180 athletes are scheduled to compete. Japan Women's National Softball Team
The Japan women's national softball team is the national team of Japan in international softball competitions. It is governed by the Japan Softball Association. They are currently ranked #2 in the world by the International Softball Federation. In four Olympic Games, since 1996 until 2008, Japan has won one gold medal, a silver medal and a bronze medal. In the top four nations at the Olympics, Japan is the second most successful national team (winning three medals), following the United States (four medals, three gold and a silver), and beating out Australia (also four medals out of which three were bronze and one silver) and China with one silver medal. 2017 National Pro Fastpitch Season
The 2017 National Pro Fastpitch season was the 14th season of professional softball under the name National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) for the only professional women's softball league in the United States. From 1997 to 2002, NPF operated under the names Women's Pro Fastpitch (WPF) and Women's Pro Softball League (WPSL). Each year, the playoff teams battle for the Cowles Cup. Milestones and events The Dallas Charge announced that they would be relocating to San Marcos, Texas and changing their name to the Texas Charge. On January 16, 2017, the NPF announced that the ownership of the Pennsylvania Rebellion would be dissolving the team, effective immediately. All Rebellion players under contract were granted free agency. On February 1, the Village of Rosemont announced it would be assuming ownership of the Bandits from previous owner Bill Sokolis. 2016 NPF Draft
National Pro Fastpitch held two drafts before the 2016 National Pro Fastpitch season, 2016 season: First, the 2016 NPF Expansion Draft was held for the expansion Scrap Yard Dawgs to acquire players for their inaugural roster from existing NPF teams. With the arrival of the expansion Dallas Charge, NPF created a process for expansion teams to acquire talent: choosing either one player via a 'Market Choice Selection' (a college player either who is from the expansion team's state or who played for a college in the expansion team's state) or five players from an Expansion Draft. 2015 Florida Gators Softball Team
The 2015 Florida Gators softball team represented the University of Florida softball program during the 2015 NCAA Division I softball season. The Gators defeated 2015 Michigan Wolverines softball team, Michigan in three games in the final of the 2015 Women's College World Series, clinching back-to-back titles for the program. 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament
The 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 14 through June 3, 2015 as the final part of the 2015 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 293 teams on May 10, 2015. Thirty-two teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and thirty-two teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The tournament culminated with eight teams playing in the 2015 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Automatic bids The Big 12, Big West, Mountain West, Pac-12, and West Coast Conference bids were awarded to the regular season champion. United States Women's National Softball Team
The United States women's national softball team is the national softball team of the United States. It is governed by USA Softball (formerly known as the Amateur Softball Association) and takes part in international softball competitions. The US team has been dominant in international play, taking the gold medal in three straight Olympics and seven straight world championships. They won the silver medal at the 2008 and 2020 Summer Olympics. In the 2004 Olympics the team held its opponents to one run scored in 7 games. The lone run came in a 5–1 victory over the Australian team. It was the first run scored by an opponent against the US softball team in 9 games.
