"Atrévete-te-te" ( en, "Dare Yourself-self-self") is a Grammy-nominated song by Puerto Rican urban duo Calle 13 from their eponymous debut album '' Calle 13'', released in February 2006, by White Lion Records. It is one of the duo's best known songs. It was a hit single in many Latin American countries. Calle 13 is a Puerto Rican alternative hip-hop band formed by stepbrothers Residente (lead vocalist, songwriter) and Visitante (multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, beat producer), along with their half-sister iLe, also known as PG-13 (backing vocals). Alternative Reggaeton
Alternative reggaeton is a subgenre of reggaeton that emerged from the reggaeton movement as a reaction to its repetitive and monotone dembow rhythm, and the predominant stereotypical gangsta content that became predictable. The result was a complex sound derived from world sounds, mainly rooted in latin folk music such as bomba, plena, salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, tango and also other foreign influenced music such as rock en español and latin alternative. Latino Punk
Latino punk is punk music created by Latino people in Latin America and the United States. The angst and protest qualities of punk music and style have had a strong appeal to Latino youth in the U.S., and to the people in Latin America. It is impossible to pinpoint the exact location or moment when Latinos began engaging in the punk subculture.
