Atonio Mafi
Atonio Mafi (born October 20, 2000) is an American professional football guard for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UCLA and was selected in the fifth round (144th overall) of the 2023 NFL draft by the New England Patriots. Early years Mafi was born on October 20, 2000, and is of Tongan descent. He grew up playing rugby before later switching to football. He attended Junípero Serra High School in San Mateo, California, and played football on both sides of the ball, being ranked a three-star prospect and a top-130 player in California, according to ESPN. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players.
