Atomic Knight
Atomic Knight is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC comics, and was briefly a member of the Outsiders team. He is sometimes depicted as one of a group of Atomic Knights, which first appeared in '' Strange Adventures'' #117 (June 1960) and ran quarterly in that monthly comic up through #160 (January 1964). Sergeant Gardner Grayle was portrayed by Boone Platt in the live action Arrowverse series ''Black Lightning'' in the third season. Development During an interview, co-creator John Broome discussed the genesis for the idea. Cary Bates
Cary Bates (born 1948) is an American comic book, animation, television and film writer. He is best known for his work on ''The Flash'', '' Superman'', ''Superboy, the Legion of Superheroes'' and ''Captain Atom''. Biography Early career Bates began submitting ideas for comic book covers to DC Comics at the age of 13, and a number of them were bought and published, the first as the cover to '' Superman'' #167 (Feb. 1964). Bates began to sell stories to DC when he was 17. Bates is best known for his work for DC Comics on such titles as ''Action Comics'', ''Captain Atom'', ''The Flash'', '' Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes'', and ''Superman''. He began working for the publisher in 1963 and continued to do so until the early 1990s. Darkseid
Darkseid () is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by writer-artist Jack Kirby to serve as the primary antagonist of his "Fourth World (comics), Fourth World" metaseries, and was first seen briefly in ''Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen'' #134 in December 1970 before being officially introduced in the debut issue of ''Forever People'' in February 1971. Kirby modeled Darkseid's face on actor Jack Palance and based his personality on Adolf Hitler and Richard Nixon. Formerly known as Uxas, Darkseid is a New Gods, New God and the tyrannical Lord of Apokolips who is regarded as one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe.
