Atol (drink)
''Atole'' (, from Nahuatl '' ātōlli'' ), also known as ''atolli'' and ''atol de elote'', is a traditional hot corn- and masa-based beverage of Mexican origin. Chocolate ''atole'' is known as '' champurrado'' or ''atole''. It typically accompanies tamales, and is very popular during Day of the Dead (observed November 2) and '' Las Posadas'' (Christmas holiday season). In Mexico In Mexico, the drink typically includes'' masa ''(corn hominy flour), water, '' piloncillo'' (unrefined cane sugar), cinnamon, vanilla, and optional chocolate or fruit. The mixture is blended and heated before serving. ''Atole'' is made by toasting ''masa'' on a '' comal'' (griddle), then adding water that was boiled with cinnamon sticks. The resulting blends vary in texture, ranging from a porridge to a very thin, liquid consistency. ''Atole'' can also be prepared with rice, wheat, or oatmeal in place of masa. In northern Mexico, a variation is also made using '' pinole'' (sweetened toasted co ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Atol (programming)
The C programming language has a set of functions implementing operations on strings (character strings and byte strings) in its standard library. Various operations, such as copying, concatenation, tokenization and searching are supported. For character strings, the standard library uses the convention that strings are null-terminated: a string of characters is represented as an array of elements, the last of which is a character (with numeric value 0). The only support for strings in the programming language proper is that the compiler translates quoted string constants into null-terminated strings. Definitions A string is defined as a contiguous sequence of code units terminated by the first zero code unit (often called the ''NUL'' code unit). This means a string cannot contain the zero code unit, as the first one seen marks the end of the string. The ''length'' of a string is the number of code units before the zero code unit. The memory occupied by a string is al ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Atol is a two-seat kit amphibious aircraft with a wood composite structure. It was to be built in ultralight and light-sport aircraft A light-sport aircraft (LSA), or light sport aircraft, is a fairly new category of small, lightweight aircraft that are simple to fly. LSAs tend to be heavier and more sophisticated than ultralight (aka "microlight") aircraft, but LSA restrictio ... (LSA) versions. Atol aircraft were produced by the Finnish company Atol Avion. In April 2017 it was announced that the aircraft would be built for the North American market by Atol USA of Brunswick Landing, Maine. By 2022 the company website had been taken down and the domain was for sale. Development The Atol was designed by Markku Koivurova and produced by Martekno Ky and later Atol Avion Ltd. The development of Atol began in the 1970s, inspired by the American Osprey II. The first versions of the design used the Ken Rand KR structure. Atol's predecessors were larger and their structure ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Air Travel Organisers' Licensing
Air Travel Organisers' Licensing (ATOL) is a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) scheme to give financial protection to people who have purchased package holidays and flights from a member tour operator. Corporate function The majority of UK tour operators are required to hold an ATOL licence, without which they may not legally sell air travel. ATOL-licensed firms will have had their business practices inspected by the CAA. An ATOL licensed tour operator must also obtain insurance bonds from the CAA. The aim of this is to provide refunds to travellers affected by any event which causes the airline to be unable to provide travel for its customers, and to arrange for flights (in addition to accommodation and other items which may be included in a package holiday) to return home those already abroad at the time. History In the 1960s, voluntary organisations such as the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) provided a degree of financial protection for air travell ...
