Atmananda
Śrĩ Atmananda (8 December 1883 – 14 May 1959), also referred as Sri Atmananda Krishna Menon, was an Indian sage, guru, and philosopher. He has been described by scholars as a "neo-Hindu". His teachings have become a foundation for a spiritual method called the Direct Path. Biography Source materials Nitya Tripta (S. John Levy (philosopher)
John Levy (28 April 1910 – 28 December 1976) was a British mystic, artist, and musician, best known for translating the works of his guru Sri Atmananda Krishna Menon, ''Atma Darshan'' and ''Atma Niviriti'' into English. Born into a wealthy aristocratic family, Levy was an expert in Asian folk music, especially that of India. At one point in his life, he gave up his entire fortune and went to live in India with only a loincloth. In India, Levy was a student of V. K. Krishna Menon. Rupert Spira
Rupert Spira (1960) is an English spiritual teacher, philosopher and author of the Direct Path based in Oxford, UK. Life Just prior to beginning his formal spiritual exploration, Spira attended an exhibition by the studio potter Michael Cardew at Camberwell Arts Centre in London. Spira’s encounter with the arts and spiritual traditions inspired him to abandon the scientific path he was on and begin his art studies with Henry Hammond at West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1977 and take an apprenticeship with Michael Cardew, then aged eighty, at Wenford Bridge Pottery from 1980 to 1982.  Spira graduated from West Surrey College of Art and Design with a BA in 1983. Chengannur
Chengannur (also spelled Chengannoor or Chenganur) is a Municipality in the Alappuzha district of Kerala State, India. It is located in the extreme eastern part of the Alappuzha district, on the banks of Pamba River. Chengannur is north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram on the MC Road (State Highway 1). Chengannur is connected to Kollam and Kottayam by NH 220. Chengannur is noted for the Chengannur Mahadeva Temple (aka 'Dakshina Kailasam' as a major Shiva temple of South India) and its Old Syrian Church of the ancient Syrian Christian community.
